Mark Van Hees, CFP, FCSI

Mark Van Hees, Vice-President and Portfolio Manager, specializes in helping senior executives at private companies administer and streamline employee share entitlement plans, and then works closely with employees after they retire or leave the company to preserve wealth and build a supplementary income stream. His 18 years of experience enable him to identify the best private wealth management investment counsellors to design each client’s customized, low-risk portfolio. After the match, he monitors the investment counsellors’ performance to ensure it meets his clients’ objectives.
Mark has a BA with an Economics major and Commerce minor from the University of Calgary. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and a Portfolio Manager. Along with his wife and two children, he embraces the active lifestyle of the Okanagan, snowboarding in the winter and wakeboarding in the summer. Mark often stands behind his clients’ philanthropic ambitions, supporting the causes that are most meaningful to them.

With 15 years of industry experience, Arno Richter, Associate Investment Advisor, is responsible for client portfolio reviews and stock-picking idea generation. He also writes the team’s sector and individual stock analyses. Arno’s deep market knowledge, acquired on institutional desks where he spent a decade seeking out the best stocks to present to brokers, enables the team to identify the most promising investment opportunities for clients.
Arno has a BA in Geography from Simon Fraser University, and is licensed as a financial advisor. He has served as an active coach for his three children’s sports teams, and loves to ski and travel.
Associate Investment Advisor
With 14 years of industry experience, Karen Doyon, Associate Investment Advisor, specializes in building income portfolios for seniors, including managing RRIF accounts, selecting stocks and mutual funds, and assisting with estate planning and settlement. Focusing on accommodating clients’ needs and providing advice with a personal touch, she builds trusting long-term relationships with investors who regularly turn to her for support through difficult times.
Karen dedicates significant time to building her credentials, and has completed programs focused on Wealth Management, Advanced Investment Strategies, Elders Planning and Aging and the Law. She is working towards her Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation. She enjoys oil painting, qi gong and hiking with her dog, Shadow, a chow/golden retriever mix.
Investment Advisor Assistant
Kimi is a licensed Investment Advisor Assistant with seven years of industry experience. Her role includes processing and confirming client transactions, setting up new accounts and systematic transactions, and maintaining client documentation. Her goal is to ensure that clients receive efficient, accurate, friendly service.
Kimi has a Bachelor of Management degree from the University of British Columbia Okanagan. She has completed the Canadian Securities Course, has a Certificate in Advanced Investment Strategies and is working towards her Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation. She is an enthusiastic runner in training for a half-marathon, and loves to travel.
